Mar 042011

We got a TOR smorgasbord of news for this week’s update.  Surely, no one will be able to complain about this update!

ALL THINGS BOUNTY HUNTER
Yesterday we got the Bounty Hunter class video and IGN interview.  Today BioWare followed up with more details about this Empire class:

New Companion
Mako is an orphaned childhood prodigy computer hacking expert from Nar Shaddaa.  Read her Holonet entry here.

Species Update
Bounty Hunters may play as a Rattataki, a pale-skinned species know for their brutality.  They lived in subterranean caves until they finally emerged and established fortresses in the mountains on Rattatak.  Read full Holonet entry here.

Bounty Hunter Starship
Kua Drive Yards D5-Mantis Patrol Craft.  This ship is a compact interdiction vessel designed to fight.  With fully-retractable weapon foils and independent power sources, the Mantis wields firepower usually associated with much larger vehicles.  Read Holonet entry with links to short starship video and screenshots here.

DECEIVED TRAILER
Watch the new teaser trailer for Deceived, an official Star Wars: The Old Republic novel by Paul S. Kemp.  The trailer features mostly footage from the Blur trailers, “Deceived” and “Hope,” shown at conventions over the last two years. Deceived will be available in U.S. bookstores on March 22nd.  Read full update with links to excerpts of the novel here.

PAX EAST
Are you read for PAX East?  SWTOR will be there at Booth 912 and they’re bringing the world gameplay premiere of Flashpoint: Taral V, gameplay of all eight classes, live Q&A sessions with developers (incl. Daniel Erickson and James Ohlen), and a meet and greet Saturday night at the Westin Boston Waterfront.  Read full article here.

Stephen Reid says more details will be released Saturday (tomorrow?  PAX East Saturday?).  He also advises that if you want to make sure you get in, arrive early because room capacity will be limited.

And while we’re talking about meet and greets, don’t forget on Friday, March 11th is the SWTOR Community Cantina meet and greet for fansites, podcasts, and the TOR community at large.  Full details here.
