Oct 072011

Today marks the beginning of a new video series, “Choose Your Side.” The premiere video goes in-depth into the Jedi Knight and Bounty Hunter classes, focusing on their best tactics to use against one another. Not only that, but the video is also a good introduction to both characters in both story and combat functions. We also get a lot of new gameplay footage for each class, taken from scenes throughout the game. To see it for yourself, watch the video here.

In addition to the Choose Your Side video, we are also given the second part of the Companion Characters Update with William Wallace. We were given a lot of information on Companion AI in particular:

  • Players may choose to disable some area-of-effect abilities when using crowd control or when fighting tough single enemies.
  • Players may activate special modes or stances for their companion, causing them to focus more on damage or tanking, or on a single target versus groups of enemies.
  • Players may want to manually activate buffs and powerful special abilities on long cooldowns, as opposed to letting the companion pick when to use their most powerful attacks.

As we creep closer to launch, we can only hope that we’ll get more information on the way companions will function in the game. In the mean time, some more Choose Your Side videos can help us realize we have no idea what class we really want to play. Which do you think would win? The Jedi Knight, or the Bounty Hunter?
