Nov 182011

Well I don’t know about you, but I am completely overwhelmed with the release of information today!   First we had the embargo dropped and we were flooded with information from the Fan Site Summit #2.   Then we had so much released on the official SWTOR.com web that I don’t know where to begin.

The Republic developed a prototype battle station called The Hammer which is now in the hands of the Advozsec. Your job is to regain control by stopping the Advozsec. Read more here.

Dr. Greg Zeschuck announced the release of the NDA in this developer post:

The Old Republic Opens Up! | Today , 07:00 PM

Folks,

As of now, the non disclosure portion of our Game Testing Agreement is officially lifted. While all players must still accept the Game Testing Agreement, from this point on testers may now freely talk about their experiences this past weekend in the game, as well as post screenshots and gameplay videos of their testing experiences. We encourage you to come join us on the official Star Wars™: The Old Republic™ Forums to share your experiences!

The Star Wars: The Old Republic community site will have a copy of this message on the forums and it will also appear in the Patcher. Players may not talk about nor reprint posts from our testing forums as they are still fully covered by the confidentiality portions of our Game Testing Agreement. And all players who want to participate in the upcoming Beta Test Weekends still have to accept all terms of the Game Testing Agreement. So, other than that, free feel to talk about and share your experiences in Star Wars: The Old Republic.

My thanks go out to everyone who has beta tested and continues to beta test the game. It has been with your help and feedback that Star Wars: The Old Republic is where it is today. We really appreciate your efforts.

May the Force be with you!

Greg Zeschuk
VP, Electronic Arts, BioWare Austin, General Manager

LAST NAMES! James Ohlen announced the introduction of The Legacy System. You can ready more about it here. Damion Schubert added that you can have your legacy name displayed in one of two different ways here.

Last but not least, Chronicle Books has announced the release of The Art and Making of the Old Republic Co-written by former Star Wars Insider editor Frank Parisi and BioWare Writing Director Daniel Erickson.

  1. I feel like Cate Blanchet in the… let’s call it “finale” of Indiana Jone 4. “Too much! You know… too much!” *overload*

It distracted me however of this Job’s message called “Outlaw’s Den”. First, Jedis in Huttball and now this. I’d rather play Empire than setting a foot in this affront against… well, I shall not waver! By the Maker, Bioware cannot make mistakes!

  2. HAHA! There is so much information released yesterday, I still haven’t read it all!

  3. Friday’s NDA lift has resulted in more fansite posts than you can shake a lightsaber at. I *still* haven’t finished poking around at the sites I regularly frequent!

Thank goodness we have the BETA weekend coming up so I can see some of the Old Republic magic first hand! (instead of being bitter than we have another month until launch)

  4. The best thing this video has to offer? It is a group that wipes! They don’t manage to kill the boss 😀
