A glance at this week’s articles on CRR:

Sith or Jedi:  Test of the Inconsiderate Gamer

You come across a loot chest guarded by two elite Mobs.  You know you can take ’em so you jump in and start wailing away.   Another player comes running up out of the woods and goes straight for the chest and takes the loot.  You:

1. Keep on killing your mobs and sort of mentally shake your head and move on after they are down.
2. You hit enter and type the word “AssHat” into the “say” chat window and hit enter again then continue killing your mobs and move on.
3. You kill the mobs then follow the “asshat” around for a while stealing his kills and or chests etc. Until you feel he is pissed enough at you .. then do a LOL and go on your merry way …. satisfied.

  1. I Have 1500 cartel coins because I just bought the standard edition. But besides Carla having bought the Collectors edition, I’m on the same boat as far as calculations go. I guess I’ll have to hit the costumer service too.

  2. Great show!
I understand BioWare/EA wanting to make incentives for people to use the Cartel Market, but they are going about it in the wrong way. They are primarily selling parts of the game, instead of selling unique items or inventory slots etc. that are things all players want to purchase.

I don’t like to always compare games, but please check out how GW2 implements their cash store. They generate cash without having to sell parts of the game. Players buy items because of what they want. I am like you both, I love BioWare, but things have changed. SWTOR is not a F2P like GW2, but for the love of all that is holy, do not go into the Free-to-Play option with this so-called plan. I think the company would be best served going completely F2P, instead of making more barriers between players.

I love this game and plan to enjoy it for awhile. I just hope EA/BioWare gets a real plan and delivers on making this game better for all of us that have a real passion for this game.

My answer for Sith or Jedi question would be part of 1, by shaking my head, but also it never hurts to pull those mobs onto the “theft” and also part of 3…not necessarily steal a loot or kill, but just follow them around…Paranoia is its own reward lol 🙂

  3. It is possible to get more coins.

If you got the Digital Deluxe Edition it was worth 250. If you then later upgraded to the Collectors Edition you also get those 1000.

  4. Yes, Jason, sadly this F2P model seems to be leaning towards separating people rather than uniting them. I can only hope that changes before it is launched.

Like you, I play to enjoy this game for a long time and only want this game to get better.

  5. SurlyJ – I didn’t think about that, but you are correct!

  6. Yes be sure and put in a ticket! They are blaming it on that free month everyone got for legacy, but that’s just it, most people got it!

  7. I’m currently showing 2550 Cartel Coins. I’ve been subbed since launch with the DDE edition so I got 250 for that. I upgraded later to the CE when it went on sale, so I got 1000 for that. However, since I got a free month a play time with the CE, I lost 200 points for that month essentially only giving me 50 for the DDE. 🙁 I’ve also seen some discrepancies with totals based on when your billing cycle is. Some people have already gotten their 200 for October while others haven’t.

Also, aren’t people who are subscribed when F2P launches supposed to get an extra 250?

  8. Yes, Yoje, you will get another 250 at the launch according to this: http://www.swtor.com/free What I find unsettling is that most of us that have been around since launch “should” have the same amount since we all started on the same day.

  9. Stolen Tarts is probably here, shes been on TORWars and OotiniCast as well now.

When you were saying ‘keep the player playing’ I was thinking the F2P plan sounds like its trying is hardest to stop the player playing.

  10. Hey Carla and Deidre,

Here’s a Sith or Jedi test to consider.

    The Mail Box Muffin

You’re running late one morning to get to work and clock in, but first you need to visit the nearby USPS mail box and mail a bill payment. As you approach the mail box, you see that someone has left a half-eaten and sticky looking blueberry muffin right in front of the slot where the mail goes. You roll your eyes and think that probably a drunk college student or a homeless person left it there last night.

    Do you:

    1. Sweep the half-eaten muffin off the mail box and into the bushes with your hand and then mail your payment? Doing this will mean you will need to wash your hands before clocking in and make you a few minutes late. However, you will have the satisfaction of knowing that other people such as your coworkers using the mail box later won’t have to encounter the muffin.

    2. Deftly avoid touching the sticky muffin and just mail your payment. After all, you didn’t put it there so why should you clean up after someone else’s mess and be late for work. Let someone who is not running or the postal worker deal with it.

    3. Decide you will mail your payment instead on your lunch hour at another mail box and proceed to smear the muffin on the mail slot handle and shove the rest down the mail slot to be “mailed.” You walk away laughing manically like Darth Sidious as you head to the office bathroom to wash your hands.

  11. Edit in # 2. Should say “…running late….”

  12. Hey guys, do you think it’s possible to come back as a preferred status player and just enjoy the game without having to sub.

I know D has a very anti-f2p stance, but I’m not really interested in Ops or Flashpoints at the moment, I’d like to do stuff like class quests, dailies, events. Maybe in the future they will release 3D space combat or some awesome open world pvp, but at the moment I’m only interested in the single player content.

  13. I believe you will. Look at the 4th paragraph in this post: http://www.swtor.com/community/showthread.php?p=5324114#post5324114

DD nor I are against F2P, quite the opposite in fact. We think this free to play model is too restricting. Personally, I wish BioWare/EA would just charge for the game and eliminate a few of limitations (like death and item equipping).
