Watch the Senate tower for the signal… “One if by land, two if by space.”
Yes that’s right, in an early-morning Tweeted announcement, BioWare has pulled back the curtain to reveal that Star Wars: The Old Republic is getting its first expansion pack… Rise of the Hutt Cartel. This much has been announced so far:
More after the jump…
- Level Cap Increase: While there was much speculation earlier, it was revealed that the cap will be upped to 55.
- The planet Makeb is part of the expansion.
- The storyline will continue, with fully voiced character acting. No additional details were provided, and the language is a bit vague on whether that is the individual story-line or a collective story-line.
- The Hutts are rising, and trying to take over more than just the Galactic Trade Network.
While earlier, pre-layoff promises were made about Makeb being expansion-pack sized and free, under the new business model this has changed. So no, it will not be free. It will be quite cheap, however. The list price is $19.99, with subscribers getting the low-low price of $9.99. A date for the release has not been set, however their website does say that there will be more information “over the coming months”.
Stay tuned for details…
