Dec 282012

Our Writers’ Roundtable is a lively discussion of the latest happenings by some of the writers here at Corellian Run Radio. This is a format that we try with one episode each month. We hope you enjoy it!

This segment we talk all about highlights of 1.6, Ancient Hypergate, preordering the new expansion, lack of Life Day & 1st Anniversary events, and if the community is unfair and misinformed!  We have some our current writers Maer, Jason, Drew, JD, and John joining Carla & Deirdre to discuss these hot topics. Are most games acting like Santa this holiday and BioWare being Scrooge? You won’t want to miss this action packed episode!

  1. Whereas I would agree in that calling many of the people “misinformed” was a bit unfair since EA seems to have hired comatose sea urchins to be their communication liaisons, I have to say that their comments about everyone attacking Bioware incessantly I have to say, I agree. I have started listening to podcasts again now that there is some excitement and re invigoration, but for several months, my friends and myself could not listen to podcasts, we could not read articles, we basically had to go blackout because all anyone was predominantly broadcasting was negative “what we don’t like about the game this week!” I even had to stop listening to Torwars for a couple of months because it was mostly carnage, and I adore Jeff, Deidre and Brian (now that I can hear him)!

Having said this, I think this is why they are sensitive. For almost six months, it was just a massive hate fest. Normally, my response, being the comptroller of a company (a position usually hated by everyone) is to put your big boy panties on and deal, but seriously, it was extreme what the podcasts, media, and forums were putting out. Hell, even asking a question about talent builds or rotations on the forums usually turned into a screaming fit about how Bioware/EA sucks. And even though it has gotten much better, the “you could give me $1,000 a month cash for playing your game and I will flame/hate you cause its not $2,000” people are still out there churning it out.

By the way, stating that content locusts really cannot complain about content droughts was brilliant! Good show.

GAH, I have to wait two weeks per show?!?!? You hate me 🙁

  2. Love the podcast. Appreciate the acurate informantion. So many negitive, down on Bioware podcasts out these days.
