Photo-Receptor Focus on: Return of the Gree
Unless you’ve been off-planet and nowhere near the internet, you probably already know that patch 1.7, The Return of the Gree, will go live as of today. I’m very excited about this patch with the introduction of a new event and the debut of the Reputation System.
More after the jump…
The new event, Relics of the Gree, sends us off to Ilum to investigate three Gree starships, “The Gray Secant.” The nice thing is that events, including this one, are available for all players at no additional cost. Yep, Free-to-Play and Subscriber folks don’t have to cough up extra coins or hard cash to enjoy this event, according to the SWTOR Develoment Tracker. That’s a win, as far as I’m concerned.
The new Reputation System is also exciting, as I mentioned in a past article. With all the various levels, this gives us level 50 endgame players something else to do. Since that’s desperately needed, I’m happy to have this new option to keep me in-game.
Of course, not everyone enjoys rep grinds and I’ve heard some dark prophecies that the gear will probably be as lackluster as in the past. But I’m wearing my rose-colored glasses and hoping that Bioware has stepped up and made the rewards as “great” as they’ve said in their posts.
The cross-faction element can lend a lot of interesting scenarios to the Reputation system, as well. I’m very curious to see how that’s going to play out.
That’s my two credits. What’s yours? Did this patch live up to your expectations?
