HoloNet Links #84

i love you-jawagramAww yeah it’s that special time of the year where you take a little extra time and show what that special someone means to you on this Valentine’s Day & weekend. If you haven’t found that special gift yet don’t worry, how about sending that special someone an “I Love You” Jawagram from the Cartel market or visit the bartenders on either the Republic or Imperial Fleets to buy a “Flower Delivery” Jawagram for only 1,000 credits. Nothing says love, like a Jawa “Oootini!”

JovethGonzalez Priority Transport: Personal Starship Bug | 02.12.2013, 04:56 PM

Hi everyone,
With Game Update 1.7, we introduced the new Legacy Character Perk, Priority Transport: Personal Starship. This allows players to quickly shuttle to their personal starships. This ability normally has a 24 hr cooldown, and players have the option to purchase Legacy Global Unlocks to reduce this cooldown.
Unfortunately, with Game Update 1.7, there is a bug which automatically unlocks the three levels of Legacy Global Unlocks for any players that is level 20 or above.
This is not intended and will be fixed in an upcoming patch. What this means is that, for those of you who have unlocked the Personal Starship as a Character Perk, you will no longer have 1 hr cooldowns for this ability, and you will have to unlock Legacy Global Unlocks to reduce the standard 24 hr cooldown. This will happen after the aforementioned patch.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but we hope that you enjoy this “trial” period for Improved Priority Transport: Personal Starship levels I, II, and III.

First off, this new quick travel that takes you to your own starship is awesome and I’m very glad to see it in the game. However, for everyone who thought they hit the “Legacy Lottery” by automatically receiving all three levels of this new perk…enjoy the “trial” period while you can. I’m guessing this will be patched very soon. I really hope they keep bugs like this in mind and give plenty of testing time for the Rise of the Hutt Cartel expansion.

*updated since Patch 1.70a 02/14/13*

  • Removed the character level requirement for Improved Priority Transport: Personal Starship. This Legacy Global Unlock still has a Legacy Level requirement.
  • Corrected an issue that would automatically unlock all levels of Improved Priority Transport: Personal Starship.

Thank you BioWare for addressing this bug quickly. I also commend them for going a step further and removing the Legacy level requirement on this perk. This allows more people to take advantage of this perk by purchasing it with credits or Cartel coins. What do you think about the changes? Let us know in the comment section below.

AlexModny Bring back Scoundrel UpperHand proc laugh | 02.13.2013, 09:31 AM

Good news everyone! Upper Hand and Tactical Advantage proc laugh/giggle is coming back in 2.0! Your Scoundrel or Operative will now chuckle most heartily when they gain their first UP/TA when they previously had zero. Before we took it out completely the sound was playing every time you gained an UP/TA and was really spamming everyone with their infectious chortles. I really miss the giggle so I’m glad we are bringing it back, hope yall enjoy it as well!
Cheers!

This is great news when BioWare takes time to listen to the players and give something back, even if it is only a “chuckle.” I know that there are other issues many of you would like to see fixed, changed, or added/removed from the game, so take this thread to heart. Write out your suggestion constructively, by stating in detail why you think your specific suggestion would help to improve the game. I know lots of you have some great ideas, so get to it and post your ideas in the SWTOR suggestion box forum threads.

  • SWTOR Fan Fiction

We have a new fan fiction offering from a SWTOR community forum member Quifand. Some of you may have already come across this author’s story earlier. I came across the thread after seeing the author’s latest chapter posted to the ongoing story.

I feature many different styles of writing, because we all like different things. This one caught me immediately in the prologue, as being something definitely darker. The writer has great skill in keeping the underlying theme and feeling as the story goes along without completely revealing the ultimate endgame of this story. Forceblind in the story to me represents more than an ability some people have throughout the galaxy, but also the prejudice nature some posses. To me the title is a very fitting and possibly a duality of meaning. Whatever the case, the author has me wondering, who is really “Forceblind.”

Here is a brief except from the prologue.

““No, but Master does not want to save, Master wants to kill.” Ben began to mutter hurriedly to himself, his hands and his head shaking. “But we… we… no, I, I will save… I will… save… I… we… we… we will listen to Master.” Javiin looked on in horror as his friend lost his mind in a matter of seconds.
When Ben stood back up a few moments later, the blaster in his hand aimed at Javiin, not Goll, Javiin saw only emptiness in his eyes. Ben, all he had ever been, was gone.””

Be sure to go checkout this thread on the official forums and leave the author your thoughts and feedback.

That’s it for this week’s HoloNet Links. I want to wish everyone a Happy Valentine’s Day and weekend. Don’t forget the Gree Event goes on through February 26th, so go get that rep fast!
