HoloNet Links #108
Tuesday, August 6th, 2013 Update 2.3: Titans of Industry was added to Star Wars: The Old Republic. Later in the article we will get into some of the patch notes for this new addition to SWTOR.
However, first I would like to talk about one addition BioWare made to the game. The addition of the Tauntaun animal mounts. I was completely surprised to see this addition made in Update 2.3, I expected it later this year. Thank you BioWare and I hope everyone would express thanks to you also. You listened to the community and delivered.
Tauntaun details, Titans of Industry patch notes & more after the Jump…
The Tauntaun mount is not on the Cartel Market, it is something that can be purchased on a vendor on Hoth, and/or earned through retrieving specific loot data, and there is a specific Tauntaun just for subscribers. There are two versions of the Tauntaun animal mount. One is available for any player, the Mountain Tauntaun, and the other one, the Tundra Tauntaun is for subscribers only. These mounts can be purchased with in-game credits, but if you are short of the needed credits, maybe you would rather gather the data to get the mount. To gather the data you will need to purchase lures at the Tauntaun vendors. The lures are used at Tauntaun nests. You will use the lure, but be prepared to defend the nest for the possibility to earn some Domestication Data. Where can you find the nests? According to the official SWTOR post about the Tauntaun mounts, the macrobinoculars will be helpful for finding nest locations. Listed below are the amounts you will need to get your own Tauntaun animal mount. Once again, thank you BioWare!
Mountain Tauntaun details:
Costs – 20x Tauntaun Domestication Data or 2 million credits
Tundra Tauntaun details:
Costs – 15x Tauntaun Domestication Data or 1.5 million credits (subscribers only)
- Titans of Industry Patch Notes
Now that Update 2.3: Titans of Industry is live, be sure to read up on all the patch notes. Read all about the new level 55 daily area, Czerka’s private moon – CZ-198. Along the lines of Czerka, there are also two new level 55 Flashpoints. Czerka Corporate Labs and Czerka Core Meltdown are the names of the new Flashpoints. These both have a storymode and level 55 Hardmode. The storymode for these two Flashpoints have a unique feature when using the Group Finder, it will take the first four players queued for either of these Flashpoints, no matter their role. There is also a new reputation that goes along with the new Czerka themed daily area and Flashpoints.
A new companion has been added to the game named Treek. This companion is an Ewok and can be purchased through the Cartel Market or through a Legacy level 40 unlock plus in-game amount of credits. Yes, there are varying opinions of this new companion being added to SWTOR, but bottom line it is new content and not required to finish any part of the game.
Speaking of the Cartel, there has been added a new hangar to the Republic and Imperial Fleets. This new hangar is the Cartel Bazaar. It has a GTN terminal, Appearance Designer station, the other Cartel reputation vendors have been moved from the Crew Skills sections on both Fleets and moved to the Cartel Bazaar, and also includes a cantina.
There are also bug fixes and other additions that are listed in the official 2.3 patch notes. The one other major addition is the Tauntaun animal mounts, which I discussed in the previous section.
Here is the official Titans of Industry trailer:
- In-Game Cartel Coins Purchases coming soon
In a news article on the SWTOR website, BioWare announces that the ability to purchase Cartel Coins in-game will be coming soon. According to the article, more details will be released to the SWTOR community over the next few weeks. On top of the ability to purchase Cartel Coins in-game, subscribers will get a 50% discount on the first in-game purchase of coins using the new in-game ability when it goes live. Be sure to check the article on the official SWTOR website.
- Dev notes
Agreed with the sentiment that it has been a bit too hectic in there this week. During this morning’s maintenance we made a behind the scenes configuration change to reduce the number of players per instance here, to help make things a little better until the novelty and rush dies down a bit.
As with any new content, especially a new area there tends to be a huge surge in player population. This tends to lead players into “stealing” kills or quest objects. Today’s maintenance looks to address this issue by making the number of players per instance fewer. Thus should allow players to complete the new daily quest without having to fight over quest objectives. Another tip to help with this is to group with a few players and share quest objectives.
AmberGreen New Czerka FP’s not giving credit to the weekly for SM. | 08.07.2013, 09:35 AM
Thanks very much for your reports! We have locked down the exact cause of this issue, and there is a workaround:
Currently, to receive credit for [WEEKLY] Czerka Takeover (Republic)/Czerka Dissolution (Imperial), the owner of the phase must be on the [WEEKLY] mission and they must still need credit for it. Once the phase owner receives credit towards the mission, the credit is shared with the group; if they are unable to get this credit, it’s preventing the rest of the group from receiving it as well. This is true regardless of how the group enters the mission phase, and it does not matter whether or not you use Group Finder.
We’re working on implementing a fix now, and as soon as we know when it’ll be deployed, we will post an update.
This is something to keep in mind until a fix is made available to download. A good rule of thumb, make sure whoever is in your group still needs to complete the mission and then make note of the player’s name who is the phase owner and that they turn in the quest first, so all party members get the quest credit. Keep an eye out for an update over the next day or so.
AmberGreen Kolto Tank/Carbonite Chamber/Chair/Remote Ship do not regen energy. | 08.06.2013, 01:02 PM
I would like to get some more information from you folks about this to be sure that we catch all instances of this bug. Right now, each item does not appear to be broken across the board for each Class.
For instance, in testing Kolto Tank internally, we were able to confirm that it’s broken for Troopers, Jedi Knights, and Sith Warriors, but it isn’t broken for Smugglers and Agents as reported.
Therefore, what we need from you is exactly what item you have determined is not regenerating energy/ammo/Force properly as well as what Class this happens with and any other relevant details you may have discovered.
Thanks for your help and reports!
BioWare needs your help to see when and what circumstances might be bringing about this bug with the Kolto Tank, Carbonite Chamber, etc. not restoring energy, ammo or Force properly. If you have this happen to you in-game, make sure to report using the /bug command and give all the details about your class, what you were doing in-game and any other information that could help them to isolate this bug.
Hi there folks,
We are adding this to the Known Issues today, but New Frontiers/Ancient Allies is currently bugged for players who have already completed the mission “Terror From Beyond” and we’re currently planning to have this fixed in Game Update 2.3.1.
Thanks for your reports and patience while we get this resolved for you!
If you have already completed Terror From Beyond, please be aware the missions New Frontiers/Ancient Allies may not allow you to complete them. If this happens, BioWare is aware of it and is working on a fix for the update 2.3.1. Please continue to be patient until the bug is fixed. If you notice any other issues relating to this issue don’t forget to pass them along using the /bug command and give as much details as you can.

- SWTOR music video
This week we look at a unique music video. Youtube user Hex DecimalUK has created a video shot in the first-person perspective and showcases the planets and the beautiful and varying topographies in the SWTOR galaxy. Besides the great job of editing the first-person look while flying through the various locations, the video creator picked a great piece of music that captures the grand scale of the galaxy. Take a view and then let us know your comments below.
That’s all for this week! See you all next week, I’m off to Chicago Comic-Con! If you have a particular link, story, video, or topic related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it! You can send those to us here at Corellian Run Radio and we can place it in a future article.
