HoloNet Links #127
Life Day and Gree events are going on now live in-game! Yes, the Gree Enclave is back, so head straight to Ilum and get going on the PVE and PVP dailies for this event. Yes, there is a Life Day event going on at the same time and it is not only Cartel items. In fact, the Empire sent out this edict, informing all citizens what the penalties for such involvement would be. How does the Life Day event work and how does it tie into the Gree event? We will learn about that more in today’s article.
Life Day, 2nd Anniversary Rewards, Holiday gift ideas & more after the Jump…
“It’s beginning to look a lot like Life Day, everywhere you go…”
The Life Day event is not what we have come to know events in SWTOR. That said there are some nice things that this event does do. One, the fleets are nicely decorated with Life Day tree holograms and others festive decorations. Next, the Life Day vendor, located by either fleet’s GTN, offers items for sell and items to be purchased via snowflaked covered parcels. How do you get these parcels?
Go to the Life day vendor and purchase the Life Day snowball item for 1,000 credits. This gives you the ability to throw snowballs at players, NPCs, and companions. Why do you want to? Well remember the parcels, every time you hit a player that does not have the “hit by snowball” buff, there is a chance of receiving a parcel. It is easy to know when you get one, because you will see golden letters appear for a few seconds saying you received one and a reward box, like quest rewards will appear.
Just click accept and start accumulating them. Quick tip, you can right click the snowball buff, to help fellow players toss the snowballs at you faster. If we all try to do this, it will help us all acquire the needed parcels faster.
Now, the tie in to the Gree Event, during the quests and World Boss loots, there is a chance to receive Grey Helix rewards. Until now, you could only use them to purchase items from the Gree Enclave. During the Life Day and Gree events, which go through January 1st, 2014, you can combine snowflaked covered parcels and Grey Helix tokens to purchase the new Cyan Sphere mount from the Life day vendor. There is also another mount that can be purchased with just parcels, Sleigh I.
- Second Anniversary Rewards
It is hard to believe the game has been around for two years. For this, the second year anniversary, BioWare is giving to all players, according to the post on the SWTOR website, an exclusive Scout Role starship paint scheme and also faction based fireworks. I think the paint scheme is one of the better ones with how the stripes happen to be arranged. So even if you are preferred or free-to-play status you will be able to unlock the paint schemes and have them ready to go when Galactic Starfighter opens up to you. The only drawback is, no matter which faction you get both paint schemes and you can only use the one based on the faction of your character. It just means the other paint scheme is worthless, but hey it is free. Thanks BioWare and happy two year anniversary!

Thank you for your patience as we maintain service for Star Wars™: The Old Republic™.
Hopefully, by the time you are reading this the maintenance period is over and the servers are back online, especially with the Life Day and Gree events going on now.
As requested, here is an update on “traditional” robes being brought into SWTOR. I think the first thing that is important to realize is that traditional can mean different things to different people. Although I know many folks are looking for the “Obi Wan” appearance, we won’t just copy and paste that in. With that being said, we have already brought some armor into the game that is a bit more traditional, such as Relnex set in the Supreme Mogul’s pack. In talking to the Cartel Market team we also have two more “traditional” Jedi armor sets in the works. One you will see in a future pack… and another which will be a direct sale item. You should see both of these within a few Game Updates from now, I don’t have exact timing at this moment.
I hope that answers your question!
It is always good to read about new armors being added to the game. I am glad to see there will be some more traditional “Jedi” robes in-game. Although, I would like to see maybe a new schematic added to the game instead of it just being put into the Cartel Market, but at least there is one set you can buy directly, instead of buying the packs and hoping you get all the pieces to the armor set.
I wanted to let you know about a bug I have become aware of. It seems that if you have a character who has never accessed the hangar and they now play Galactic Starfighter, they will not earn Ship Requisition on their Gunship. We are actively working on a fix for this but I have no other information to provide at this time.
Again, if you play GSF and you notice you are not getting Ship Requisition on your Gunship, you are likely being affected by this issue. I will update the thread as I know more. This does not affect any other ship type and should not affect any character who has played GSF prior to 2.5.1.
Hopefully, this bug has not affected many of you out there. I did not notice it affecting my Republic character that I just started using in GSF yesterday afternoon, but I will need to go back and double check. This appears to be something BioWare is working on and fingers crossed will have a patch to correct the issue. I would probably suggest playing GSF with your other starships until this is resolved, so you are not missing out on your Requisition points.

- Star Wars Gift Ideas
This is the last week for Star Wars gift ideas, I found some that are a little less pricey and if you order soon enough, they should make it to your celebration in time. Let’s see what we found for that Star Wars fan on your list.
First off this week, we have a Boba Fett backpack. As cool as it sounds, take a look at it. The backpack looks just like the infamous bounty hunter Boba Fett. Granted it is made of softer and lighter materials, oh, unfortunately the rocket isn’t going to fire either. However, if you have a younger one in school or know someone that is a huge fan of Boba Fett this might just be the gift for them. At a price of only $28, on Amazon.com, it won’t break your budget too much.
After Boba Fett, it only seems fitting to find something for one of his best known bounties, Han Solo. I came across this Warhol inspired art print of Han Solo’s trusty blaster…that he always kept at his side. The print is 11 inches by 8.5 inches and does not include the frame, but with it only costing $20, you should be able to find a frame locally at a reasonable cost to complete the look.
Boba, Han, stands to reason we need to include the fuzz ball, I’m talking about Chewbacca. There are soo many items that embrace and are modeled after Han’s famous co-pilot, Chewbacca. I decided to find something inexpensive, but also something Star Wars fans or collectors might appreciate. I offer to you, the Funko Chewbacca bobblehead. At less than ten dollars, it can be a last minute gift, a stocking stuffer or perfect for a grab-bag gift exchange.
Now, that you have some, if not all of your gift shopping done, why not kick back and have yourself an ice cold beverage. Ah, but you the Star Wars gift giver deserve more than the ordinary piece of ice. You need the Death Star ice shaped spheres for your drink. All you need to do is order the Death Star sphere mold from ThinkGeek.com. Death Star Ice sphere mold for only $5.99. Cheers and Happy Holidays, no matter what galaxy you are from!
That’s all for this week! If you have a particular link, story, video, or topic related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it! You can send those to us here at Corellian Run Radio and we can place it in a future article. Just email us the links and/or the details for the event at email@example.com, or you can also leave any link suggestions in the comments below, or in Corellian Run Radio’s Facebook group. See you all in two weeks!
