HoloNet Links #129
Update 2.5.2 went live this past Tuesday, January 14th, 2014. Besides the normal fixes on bugs, there were a few minor class changes, additions of the new Starfighter packs, the Wingman’s and the Dogfighter’s packs, to the Cartel Market. Along with those things they added new variants to the Gunship class starship – the Comet Breaker and Dustmaker. You can also see two alternate looks for these new Gunships in the Cartel Market.

In other news, from Patch 2.5.2, the Bounty Contract Week started on the 14th and will run through January 21st. This is a great opportunity to cash in on those Bounty Contracts for Henchmen and their Kingpin Bosses and raise, if not finish off your Bounty Broker’s Association reputation. For more details on the information mentioned, as well as all the fixes and changes, be sure to read all the patch notes for Update 2.5.2.
Here is another source on upcoming events and updates, coming to SWTOR, check out the latest Old Republic video.
I loved the information on the Kuat Driveyards Flashpoint. This new Tactical Flashpoint, which is role and level neutral for any character level 15-55 sounds like an amazing idea. Not to mention the random feature in the Flashpoint, meaning you might have a totally different set of objectives than the previous time you ran the Flashpoint.
I am very excited to hear about the new Rakghoul event. Although the current Bounty Contract Week event might not be the event “we were looking for,” it does give us a better idea of BioWare’s timeframe. Yes, I am putting a positive spin on it, but BioWare an event stated as being mid-January needs to start very close to, if not the week of January 15th.
- Strange Sightings in SWTOR
Now, while we have to wait longer for the elusive new Rakghoul event. There have been several interesting posts in the forums regarding the possible new event, coming soon™. What we do know, the event seems to be focused on Alderaan and the GSI seems to be connected to it, (get those macrobinoculars and survey probes ready) and we know about THORN from in-game under achievements in the Legacy menu. Thanks to Dulfy’s website we also are aware of some of the items you will be able to work towards during the event.
Things we do not know, but wish we did, the actual starting date of the event, the length of the event, the types of missions/quests to earn THORN reputation, (PVP, PVE quests/World Bosses/Operations) and can players earn reputation or tokens for vendor by infecting other players…please keep this in the Rakghoul event! If you have not read the “Strange Sightings” posts, I have some of them below.
GSI CEO Addalar Hyland on recent Alderaan imports: “This is not about sales or profits. I have no further comments at this time.”
GSI-marked ships scanning all vessels traveling to and from Alderaan. Republic and Imperial officials promise immediate investigation.
Rumors of a new GSI initiative codenamed THORN remain unconfirmed at this time.
Victims of recent animal attacks have disappeared from Alderaan medical centers. Personnel offer no explanation.

In continuing with our weekly livestream, we will be streaming again tomorrow night on our official twitch page. I wanted to let you know of some changes for this week. Unfortunately I got hamstrung with some meetings that I can’t move and I will be unable to do the stream this week. However, Courtney and Tait are ready to jump in and they will be running the stream!
They also got hit by the schedule bat a little bit and so the stream will be starting one hour later than the normal time. The stream will run tomorrow, Friday January 17th from 5 – 7 PM Central time. Again just follow the link above to get to the channel. Thanks for your understanding and I apologize for having to move things around already. We should return to normal schedule next week where OperationMusco can continue his journey!
As Eric states, they still will be doing the livestream event, but he will not be running it . The event will be handled by Courtney Woods and the newest member of the Community Team, Tait Wilson. It will be tonight, Friday, January 17th, 2014, from 5pm – 7pm CST. So if you thought you missed the weekly livestream, you haven’t, it will be tonight.
Just in case you missed the previous response to this in the Galactic Starfighter forums, this issue is being resolved in Game Update 2.6.
Sadly, this issue will have to wait for the full release of the Galactic Starfighter expansion in Update 2.6 before being resolved, but it is going to be fixed. If you did want to see what it is like to have Jaesa in your Hangar Crew, why not get on the Public Test Server and find out. You can also see what it is like to fly the new starship, the Bomber and help test Update 2.6 for before it is released into the live game.

- SWTOR Music video
This week’s SWTOR video is a parody of the Beach Boys’ song Kokomo. Youtube user Calengalad has posted and created a really great video. The use of in-game video footage is really awesome and takes the idea of the original song and places it in the Star Wars: The Old Republic galaxy. If the current winter blues has you down, time to take a virtual vacation via this video. Please take some time to comment on the video. If you have created a video about your adventures in SWTOR let us know by emailing a link to firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
That’s all for this week! If you have a particular link, story, video, or topic related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it!
