On January 31st, BioWare hosted another Community Cantina in Phoenix, Arizona. There was the typical meet and greet with fans, players and members of the Community Team in attendance. There were some reveals via thumb drives and a few tidbits in the Q&A session.
Reveals from Community Cantina after the Jump…
If any of you have been searching Reddit or other web sources, you may have come across a few things from the cantina event. I also saw some on Reddit along with a post on Dulfy’s website.
The things we do know, there will be a new mount associated with the new Kuat Drive Yards Flashpoint. It is called the Kuat Drive Orbital Lifter. It is a completely different looking mount. This is not your typically re-skinned mount. It will require Legend status according to recently posted Patch notes for Update 2.6. *(It will not be loot or drop as previously stated before edit)*
As you can see below, there is another mount that has direct ties to the Galactic Starfighter expansion. It looks like a Republic Flashfire scout starship. Personally, this is another great looking mount. It is not known how this mount can be acquired as of yet.
Both of these mount images were from racerexe on Reddit
During the Q&A session, according to a couple sources from Dulfy’s post, there were mentions of a new story arc that would be starting with Update 2.7 and reach a conclusion by the end of 2014. It was mentioned there would be possibly more information in developer blog post in the next week or so.
Stevebelt from Reddit asked specifically on a topic many players have been interested in since launch…player housing. Steve gathered from the answer of “that’s a good idea,” it would seem to suggest to him that BioWare was either working on player housing or giving it some considerable thought. There also have been some data miners finding interesting pieces of code on the PTS mention housing vendors.
I am hopeful that BioWare will add player housing to the game. It stands to reason that SWTOR probably needs to add this feature, if it plans to compete with the upcoming new MMOs on the horizon, like WildStar for instance which will have housing at launch.
