HoloNet Links #141
The Invasion update, as it is called, hit the live servers this past Tuesday. Along with this update we started another Bounty Contract Week, which flows nicely into an extra Double XP weekend going on now. As far as the update, there are definitely things I like the direction BioWare is going. Two Flashpoints, a new Huttball map (the PVPers saying “finally”), and even a new Nightmare mode for Dread Fortress. That is not even covering all the class changes either or new map for Galactic Starfighter.
State of the Galaxy transmission, Dev notes & more after the Jump…
Okay, I said I like the direction BioWare is going. That doesn’t mean I haven’t found some issues with this update. In fact, the main area that needs improvement happens to be my favorite part of the update, the two new Tactical Flashpoints. I think they are great and I understand the benefit of Tactical Flashpoints for queues popping, but there are some improvements that need to be done. As many of us mentioned during the testing phase, there needs to be Hard Mode versions for both Flashpoints. Actually, a better way to approach them is like Kuat Drive Yards. Keep the Tactical aspect of them and difficulty as is for levels 15-55. Next add a level 55 Hard Mode for both of the Flashpoints. Now, why have 55 listed twice? Because nobody should be cut off from the story, but there also needs to be a level of difficulty to challenge those at level 55 geared for Ops.
Now, all in all, I think this is a solid update, but there are some things that could greatly improve it for everyone’s benefit playing SWTOR. Who knows what they have planned for as far as increasing the difficulty level of these Flashpoints, but let’s hope they consider it.
What are some things you really like in this update? Are there some areas you would like them to improve? Please leave your comments below.
- State of the Galaxy
Everyone’s favorite super spy or evil genius is back. I am talking about the Shroud. Earlier this week a transmissions from him to his assets was posted on the SWTOR website. The transmission is a look back over what has happened in the SWTOR universe as it stands. It also looks at both factions as it relates to the Galactic War and specific locations in the galaxy. The Shroud goes through each location and faction to asses who is winning in a specific area and why or why not. These are all interesting and do layout how the power is distributed as the Galaxy stands currently. The last topic I find the most interesting and that is the Shroud listing off the assets his group has personally lost. It is not the losses I find interesting, but the fact many of them the Shroud and his organization cannot figure out what has happened. This is a guy whose life depends on seeing every angle and yet he is having trouble figuring what is happening to his assets. It raises the question, who could be doing this to the Shroud’s men and are they behind the other events throughout the galaxy? I have my theories, but it looks like for now we will have to wait.

Lore Fact for April 10th, 2014!
After retaking Korriban, Darth Thanaton ordered the exploration and excavation of the tombs surrounding the Sith Academy at whatever the cost.
Normally, I just read these lore posts and then go about my day, but after running the new Flashpoints this piece of lore seemed a bit more important. Hmm a Darth that immediately started having the tombs found on Korriban explored and excavated. I wonder what they might have found; would it be worth invading Korriban? See, it gets you thinking.
Hey everyone, we will be adding the “turn-in” terminals next to all the current Mission terminals in the Warzones for 2.7.1.
(Actually I’m adding them right now while I chomp on a delicious sammich for lunch!)
Thanks for the feedback!
Alexy Modny posted to let us know they are currently working to get the turn-in terminals up in Warzones, so players do not have to fly back to Fleet just to turn-in PVP Dailies. This will be nice so players are not feeling they are tied to the Fleet. This is cool to allow players to turn-in Dallies inside Warzones, but couldn’t it have been just as easy to auto turn-in when the daily was completed, just like what happens with Galactic Starfighter. What do you think about the turn-in terminals being delayed till next patch? Which way do you want to see made available for assisting when turning in your dailies. Please answer these questions in the comment section below.
TaitWatson First Grand Acquisitions Pack Available For A Limited Time | 04.10.2014, 02:08 PM
Starting at 4PM CDT (9PM GMT) today, the first Grand Acquisitions Pack will be available on the Cartel Market for a limited time.
The Grand Acquisitions Pack features a selection of items from the Cartel, Contraband, and Bounty Shipments, and each pack contains:
– One Reputation item, for either the Contraband Resale Corporation or the Bounty Supply Company.
– One Rare bonus item with a chance of a Super Rare.
– One Rare complete armor set with a chance of a Super Rare.
The Packs cost 900 Cartel Coins (10% off!) and will only be available until 11AM (4PM GMT) on Monday, April 14th, so make sure you pick up a pack soon!
Here are new Cartel packs available for purchase from the Cartel Market now through April 14th, 2014 11 AM CDT. Now this is not your ordinary Cartel pack, this is the first Grand Acquisitions Pack. As it says in the post by Tait Watson, these packs will cost 900 Cartel coins, which is 10% off. Now, some of you are thinking, why soo much? Is there anything worth justifying spending that much more than a single pack? The one thing is every pact has one complete set of rare Moddable armor or possibly a Super Rare set of armor. Now, when you factor in the cost for an orange Moddable set of armor, it does take away some of the sting of spending 900 Cartel coins. I’m not breaking out my Cartel coins, just yet or anytime soon. We will see how the new packs are selling. What do you think of the new Cartel packs currently on the Cartel Market? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

- SWTOR Music video
This week’s video is by one of my favorite video creators, FireFlower. She does such a great job of telling a story through video and music. Her latest creation is around the song Souls Battle. This instrumental song is epic and helps convey FireFlower’s video story. In this video you will want to pay close attention to the words on the screen. The words are poetic subtitles conveying the emotions and thoughts behind the video’s main character. Watch and see this character fight her Soul’s Battle.
If you have a particular link, story, video, or topic related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it! You can send those to us here at Corellian Run Radio and we can place it in a future article.
