HoloNet Links #152
Wow, in less than a week, June will be over and we will be into the month of July. With the arrival of July, the next Double Rewards event begins. Starting July 1st, Double Rewards will begin for any PVP Warzone. This means double credits and commendations at the end of each match. Just like the Double Rewards for GSF, this does not apply to Daily or Weekly mission rewards. Also get ready for more Double XP and not just for a weekend, but an entire week of Double XP!
New Community Coordinator, dev notes & Wipes on Trash video after the Jump…
- Pokket joins Community Team
Monday afternoon via the SWTOR forum threads we learned a new member had joined the community team. Hillary Nicole, sometimes better known as “Pokket,” introduced herself to the SWTOR community. Some of us might have seen her on one of her many Twitch live streams, giving interviews at gaming conventions or possibly in one of her YouTube videos. As she mentions below, “it is easy to tell gaming is a passion of mine.” Isn’t that exactly who we as players want on the Community Team? The more people, helping who love and play video games, like we do, the better we will be represented. From all us here at Corellian Run Radio, welcome aboard!
My name is Hillary Nicole, but some of you may know me as “Pokket.” I recently joined the Bioware Austin team as their new Community Coordinator. My role will be to help maintain relationships with fan sites, streamers, guilds, and any other aspect of the SWTOR community.
To give a little history on myself, I’ve been gaming since I was a wee little child. My dad and uncle got me into online gaming when I was about 12, with Ultima Online (thanks, dad! XD). I’ve played nearly every AAA title since then and have enjoyed both PvP and raiding across many games. I’ve streamed, done youtube videos, and attended several video game conventions.
I guess it is easy to tell gaming is a passion of mine…
I look forward to sharing my passion for games with you all, and am glad to be given this opportunity here at Bioware.
Don’t hesitate to say hi, I promise I am friendly! ʕ•ᴥ•ʔ

- Dev notes
I’ll be joining the SW:TOR stream tomorrow with Tait and Courtney at 2-4PM PDT (9-11PM GMT).
I look forward to rolling a new character, but instead of picking out my own character, I’m going to let you all decide on what I am going to be playing and leveling!
I’ll be rolling on the Republic side. Though, faction selection is subject to change if enough people request it!

Day: Friday, June 27, 2014
Time: 2-4PM PDT (9-11PM GMT)
Speaking of Hillary, she will be joining the Friday Livestream. This thread has a poll. It is to decide which class she will be leveling on the stream. If you would like to help, go to the thread and place your vote. As of June 26th, Trooper class was leading the voting for which class Hillary would be starting. You can also “tune-in” for today’s Livestream or login on to the Harbinger server and start a character!

Good question, let me explain a bit about this shipment of packs and how it works. The first thing that many of you noticed is that this shipment does not have a reputation track, this is intentional. The Star Cluster pack and the Club Vertica pack are a smaller, special shipment which is intended to run during Nar Shaddaa Nightlife Event.
What you will see is that Star Cluster will become embargoed on the launch of 2.8.1, which will also mark the launch of Club Vertica. Similarly, Club Vertica will only be available up to, or before, the launch of 2.9. I don’t have an exact date on when Club Vertica will be embargoed but I will let you know when I do. However, it should be noted that it will embargo during the Nightlife Event.
Again, these were two packs made specifically around the Nightlife event and they work a little differently then some of our others have. When messaging this we were treating it like we do a normal pack and messaging an embargo approximately 1-2 weeks out.
I hope that explains the embargo timing.
As Update 2.8.1 approaches very soon, remember that the new packs Star Cluster will be embargoed and no longer for sale on the Cartel Market. As Eric mentions these packs and the upcoming Club Vertica packs are only here for a limited time since they are associated with the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event. I understand they want these packs and items associated to be rare since tied to the event. However, it might have been nice to know this upfront before the packs started being offered for purchase. People don’t mind exclusive items or limited time offers, but they want to have this made known upfront, so everything is clear. Is there something you have not been able to purchase yet, but might have spent Cartel Coins for if you only knew the packs were going to be such a limited run?

- SWTOR music video
YouTube user Maximus White posted the following SWTOR music video. The video below is the fight in Dread Fortress – Hard Mode. The Oppression Guild “Wipes on Trash” from the Harbinger server is battling Gate Commander Draxus. The Operation video of the fight makes a good vehicle for the song, “Can’t Hold Us.” I thought it might be nice to highlight some videos of players battling, questing, etc. set to music.
If you have a particular link, story, video, or topic related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it! You can send those to us here at Corellian Run Radio and we can place it in a future article.
