HoloNet Links #185

March Madness is back in the sports world, as the NCAA Basketball tournament is underway. However, the “Madness” or excitement seems to be in SWTOR. This past week has seen a couple positive announcements. First, Season Four Ranked awards have been announced and secondly, SWTOR’s Community Live stream is back. Oh, and the Bounty Contract event is going on now through March 23rd. It is a sort of sport, at least for those collecting contracts.

For more links & posts, let’s make the Jump…

  • SWTOR Community Live stream

As I hinted in the intro, SWTOR’s Community Live stream will be back this Friday starting at 3pm CDT. The dev post below also mentions there will be news about upcoming content in Update 3.2 and story content dealing with the new planet Ziost. The community has been starving for information about upcoming content and now it seems like we might be getting a few appetizers. Make sure you head over to SWTOR’s Twitch channel to see what is heading to Star Wars: The Old Republic.

When: Friday, March 20th from 3PM-4PM CDT
Who: Bruce Maclean, Michael Backus, and myself
What: We are going to talk about the story coming to Ziost and what is coming in Game Update 3.2. (No spoilers!)

  • Special Guest on the next CRR Livestream

Corellian Run Radio would like to again thank all those who attended, watched, and followed our Twitch channel. We will be live again Sunday, March 29th at 5pm EST/2pm PST. This upcoming podcast will have a special guest. If you have been attending our live stream or maybe you haven’t yet, either way this will be a show everyone will want to mark on your calendars to be there live. See you there! CRR_bumper_small

  • More Season 4 Ranked Rewards Announced

Arrgh, they be announcing more Season 4 Ranked rewards, Swashbuckling rewards at that. Earlier this week BioWare has posted an article listing the three tiers of Ranked rewards for Season 4. There is a chart, which I have attached to this article. The chart lists the rewards and ratings needed for each tier of rewards.

This season will be the first to offer different rewards for the lowest tier. Those with a group rating 1000-1399 will receive all the bronze level rewards plus Black-Silver Striated Crystal Lockbox. If you play solo ranked, you will need to have a rating of 1350 or higher to receive the Black-Silver Striated Crystal Lockbox. I think BioWare is trying to keep Ranked PVP full of players truly into Ranked PVP and not just special rewards. What do you think about this change to the ranked rewards? Let us know what you think in the comment section below.

  • SWTOR fan video

This week for the music video, we look at a video posted by YouTube user Star Seeker. The video is titled “SWTOR: Bounty Hunter tribute.” As I’m sure you can guess, this video is a tribute for the Bounty Hunter class. This video has several cutscenes, so be forewarned there are possible spoilers.

The video itself is really done well. It has the dramatic movie, which it captures with a underlining score. The music score definitely is the star of this video, but the support role goes to the selected voice-over dialog. The edits are very clean and give the overall project a feel of a professional movie trailer. The video actually reminds me of the ones seen early on when BioWare was showcasing each class. What do you think of the video? Please let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

  • SWTOR screenshot tip

This week I didn’t find one unique screenshot, but I did come across a little tip that can help everyone create their own awesome images. The tip comes from Ravalation. Here is an image she was able to take using this tip.

how did i get up here - web

Hmm, how did she do that? Well, although some of you might have guessed I didn’t hear your answers, so on with the tip. First, the warning: this is going into the game settings and making some changes. Ravalation or Corellian Run Radio not is liable if you mess it up. Make sure to be careful. Okay, that is out of the way, on to the tip. Basically all this will do is increase the distance of maximum zoom. Ravalation has detailed instructions on how to make the necessary changes. You will need to go to her article and scroll down to the section named, “Increasing the max zoom distance in SWTOR.”

While at her article, check out all the great screenshots she was able to take using this tip. You might want to leave her a comment also. What is the first place you plan on taking a screenshot with using this tip? If you have some neat screenshots using this tip, please send them to us and we will try to highlight them on the website.

Have you taken any fun, interesting or out of this galaxy screenshots? If so be sure leave us a link in the comment section below, or email them to us at

  • Community Blog: The Cat & the Coffee Drinker

While surfing the net for various SWTOR related sites I came across a streamer who also has a blog. This is not the first time for a streamer to be a blogger, but this time the blog happens to be a comic based upon the author’s adventures in SWTOR. The latest comic is a funny look at a “noob” move that some Snipers have been known to do. Take a look at the comic for yourself.

The blog where you can find more of the author’s work is called The Cat & the Coffee Drinker. I really enjoy the artwork and the writing behind the comic. It is always amazing to see all the things members of the SWTOR community are capable of and share.

Please let us know if you have a particular link, story, video, or blog related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it! You can send those to us here at Corellian Run Radio and we can place it in a future article. Just email us the links and/or the details for the event at, or you can also leave any link suggestions in the comments below, or in Corellian Run Radio’s Facebook group. See you next week!
