HoloNet Links #194
This weekend many will be graduating and moving onto that next phase of their lives, whether that is college, or a job. We want to congratulate all those graduating. I want to send a special wish out to my niece. Hard to believe my “little padawan” has faced her trials (isn’t that a great description of high school?) and is ready for knighthood. I say all this with a smile and a tear in my eye. May the Force be with you always T-tot!
Now let’s get into this week’s links after the Jump…
Okay, onto what is happening in-game and coming soon. The Gree event is still going on and of curse 12x XP for subscribers is going stronger with lots of leveling happening. Speaking of events, the Bounty Contract week will be starting up on the 26th of May. We will get into what is planned later for this summer.
Tait Watson, one of the “Musco-teers,” posted the preliminary patch notes for Update 3.2.1. The highlight for me, besides all the attention to bug fixes, is the announcement about the return of the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event! Below you can see the exact quote from the forum post.
Nar Shaddaa Nightlife makes a glorious return! Head to Nar Shaddaa between June 9th, 2015 at 5AM PDT (12:00 GMT) and August 25th, 2015 at 5AM PDT (12:00 GMT) to test your luck on Smuggler’s Luck and Kingpin’s Bounty slot machines to earn unique prizes!
I was talking to Heather, my awesome co-host, about the announcement. We are both excited for the return of this event. She really is glad to see the fixes to the achievements for this event. Retroactive changes that benefit players are always welcomed.
Achievements earned during the Nar Shaddaa Nightlife event that were lost have been restored thanks to a gracious donation from Czerka Corporation. Czerka Corp: Anytime, anywhere…we’re there
Crossing fingers and running dailies all to get ready for my many attempts at getting a rancor. How many of you plan to take your chances to get a new mount or save gold certificates to get some legacy items?
Another item in the patch notes, that some might have passed over.
Emergency Fleet Pass and Quick Travel cooldowns for Preferred players now match the Subscriber cooldowns as intended.
This QoL is a great fix. I know as a subscriber the cooldowns on travel is one of the best changes in this game.
To those progression raiders, Toque will be ready for you to take down without those pesky bugs. I have not made a Ravagers run yet, but it has to be a lot easier when you can clearly see a specific mechanic.
The consoles in the Torque encounter are no longer valid targets for AOE healing abilities, such as Roaming Mend and Kolto Cloud.
The visual effect for Torque’s Floor Vents now lasts the full duration of the ability. Additionally, an indicator has been added to assist in differentiating the Floor Vents from player effects.
These are just a few small little items I found in the patch notes, but there are a lot more items being fixed and updated. Some of the patch items being altered involve a few class changes. To find out what all is coming in Update 3.2.1, be sure to read all the preliminary patch notes and look for the official patch notes Friday afternoon.
- SWTOR fan video
This week we have another SWTOR music video. YouTube user DuduFilm , has posted the video titled “Revan Untold.” It is a fan created tribute for the Star Wars character Revan. The creator utilizes footage from ingame cutscenes, game trailers and some ingame audio. All of these elements are arranged to tell the story of Revan. The story follows the rise of Darth Revan, the times he saved the galaxy, and when he pushed the galaxy to the brink of darkness. Highlighting the good and bad, the light and dark, focuses on that solitary role of the neutral Force user. Love or hate Revan, there is no denying the character is truly iconic in Star Wars lore. What do you think? Let us know your thoughts on the Revan tribute in the comment section below.
