HoloNet Links #199
Wow, another month is nearing an end. Have you been getting a chance to enjoy your Summer, (for those in the Northern Hemisphere)? It has been raining a lot here. That is a bit of a downer as far as doing things outside, but that does mean some extra time to log into SWTOR. It has been fun checking out a couple other servers. As part of our interview with Radio-Free.org, I have been checking out some of the cantina parties.
Now let’s get into this week’s links after the Jump…
Since Heather and I will be in-game for this interview, I have been leveling a bit to get my toon high enough to travel to the various locations. It has been a blast taking part in the social side of SWTOR. I have been trying new emotes and dances. It is actually a lot of fun. It isn’t the typical gaming experience, but still a good time none the less.
Have you spent anytime enjoying the social aspects of the game? If you have or maybe you haven’t had the chance to do so, why not come by the Ebon Hawk and join us on the Lower Promenade of Nar Shaddaa, right in front of the Gold Hutt statue. The party by Radio-Free.org will start at 8pm EDT / 7pm CDT / 5pm PDT. You will need to have a character high enough level that they have their personal starship. Hope to see you there.
- Upcoming CRR Livestreams
Before we get into much more about the expansion, we wanted to let all our listeners know about when we will be streaming next. Our next episode will be streaming live, this Sunday, June 28th 5pm EDT / 2pm PDT.
Corellian Run Radio would like to again thank all those who attended, watched, and followed our Twitch channel. Please join Heather and Jason live every other Sunday, at 5pm EST/2pm PDT. If you have been attending our live stream or maybe you haven’t yet, either way mark your calendars to be there live. See you next episode.
- Discount on Character Transfer
The nice thing about checking out other servers is the benefit of 12x XP. It makes leveling less of a grind. It helps if you are trying to game with other friends on their server. You can close the gap and be at their level a lot faster.
The one thing about being on a new server is not having all the Legacy perks you unlocked on your “home” server. You can always get one free server transfer by being a subscriber and clicking a friend’s referral link. Okay, but what if you wanted to visit another server or maybe bring another character to your friend’s server? Well, BioWare has come up with a great idea. They are making character transfers only cost 90 Cartel Coins per transfer. That is a huge discount to the previous price of 1800 Cartel Coins. Considering you can spend that and more to unlock some of the Legacy perks like Rocket Boost etc., it is well worth it.
You can read the article posted on the official SWTOR website for more details and the steps for completing a character transfer.
- dev notes
We are continuing to remove players who are using the exploit from the game. Currently, players found to be exploiting are all receiving a 7-day suspension. This in no way means that this is the only action that will be taken against them. A 7-day suspension is the minimum suspension we are currently giving out and it removes the player from the game, giving us time to further investigate each account.
After investigating each account (and transfers to related accounts) we will go through and take additional action, including removal of credits, items purchased, and adding additional suspension time up to and including permanent suspension all based on their severity.
Again, we ask that you please avoid use of this exploit. I will continue to pass on updates as I have them
Tuesday was when the newest patch/maintenance was performed. It was approximately 12 hours that the servers were down. One of the things that were added to the game was a certain Jedi Temple chair. It was correcting an error that had left it out of a Cartel pack. You can buy it from one of the vendors in the Cartel Bazaar found on both fleets.
The issue with the chair was it could be bought for one credit, but when you tried to sell back to the vendor, it would pay you 100 credits. Now if it happened by accident, as in one time, it might not be so bad. However, it appears several players decided to do this a lot of times and thus BioWare reacted as they should. The exploit was fixed in an unannounced fix today, June 25th, 2015, for this issue.
The above post states what will be done to those who used the exploit. It mentions players being suspended from the game for seven days. During those seven days their account will be investigated and determined if any other action needs to be taken against the account.
It is easy to state that the bug shouldn’t have made it into the live-game, but it also clearly spells out in the TOS about not participating in any exploits. I think it is good to see BioWare reacting and communicating as quickly as they did. What are your thoughts on how BioWare has handled this matter? Please let us know in the comment section below.

- SWTOR Community Blog Highlight: Xam, Xam Says…
Normally, I when I highlight something I am trying to showcase the lesser known streamers, bloggers or others contributing in the SWTOR community. That all said I want to highlight Xam, Xam Says. Rachel has been highlighted here before, but her recent lore article about elements associated with the coming expansion was awesome!
I would love to start writing about all the parts I loved in the article, but we might be here a long time. She has done a great job to go with what we do know and also possible plotlines that might unfold in the Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion. One particular section I enjoyed was dealing with Vitaiate’s (the Emperor) possible role in the expansion. I urge you to follow the link to Xam, Xam’s blog and read through the article once, twice, or more times. You won’t be disappointed.
Please let us know if you have a particular link, story, video, or blog related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it! You can send those to us here at Corellian Run Radio and we can place it in a future article. Just email us the links and/or the details for the event at firstname.lastname@example.org, or you can also leave any link suggestions in the comments below, or in Corellian Run Radio’s Facebook group. See you next week!
