HoloNet Links #202
It is good to be back! I was away on a little bit of a medical hiatus. All is good, so now on this week’s news and links. Update 3.3: The Grand Togruta Celebration went live this past week. There was a bit of a delay on the actual roll-out of the patch. The patch of course contained four main areas, New Species, New Stronghold, changes to Healing class specs and PVP quality of life changes. We will look at these elements of the update along with dev notes and lots more. Be sure to read up about our next livestream recording. It will be this Sunday at a special time with special guest Ashe aka Lady Insanity.
Now let’s get into this week’s links after the Jump…
- Welcome to Update 3.3 developer blog
Toby McCall, Cartel Market design and designer on original Stronghold system, has posted a news blog on the SWTOR website. In this blog he highlights some of those very changes I mentioned in the start of this article. He goes into some details regarding the number of specific hooks and telling everyone to explore all over the Yavin IV SH to find some extra surprises. I got to see my guildmates Yavin IV SH. It is huge and has a lot of unique features. Oh, be sure to take out your macrobinoculars and look around at the majestic views, you never know where a codex entry might be found.
The two things he discusses are the new species the Togruta and the class changes for healing specs and specs with healing abilities liker Mercs with Rapid Scan. First off the Togruta, this is the first addition of a new species since Cathar were introduced shortly after the Rise of the Hutt expansion went live. The new specie unlock costs 600 Cartel Coins. Once there is a purchase of the unlock it can be used or sold on the GTN. It is rumored that there is an issue with the montrals, but I can neither confirm nor deny this rumor. The thing it states under montrals you can change the style and pattern on them, but the only thing that changes is the pattern. I have the species unlocked, but I have not created a new toon, yet. If we hear more about the possible issue with the Togruta we will let you know.
Finally, Toby talks about the class changes to the various healing specs and healing abilities found within those specific classes. I am only beginning to learn on my Sorc healer at lvl 17, but having talked to healers in my guild they have some definite opinions on the changes. Overall the opinions on changes were good. The healers in the Sorc and Operative camps seem to love the changes with the added burst heals to Sorcs and return of mobility to Operatives. No change can make everyone happy and the Commando/Mercs seem to not be as happy with these healing changes. Have you or your guild members formed opinions about the new changes? Please let us know in the comment section what you think of the healing changes and the rest of Update 3.3.

AlexModny i absolutely adore the lack of huttball and arenas in nwz rotation | 07.23.2015, 07:49 AM
Hey everyone, as many of you have guessed the change to the PTS Warzone rotation made it to Live. This is not intended and will be fixed soon. I apologize to everyone who was inconvenienced by this bug and to those that will be inconvenienced by the fix. Thank you!
Have you been wondering why Huttball and Arenas have not been popping? It seems that the PTS rotation for Warzones made it in the live game, as the above post states. Alex Modny states it was not intended to happen. The devs are working to get this fixed and I will guess it will most likely be fixed next Tuesday at the latest.
Ever wander the galaxy, come across a creature and think it would be an awesome mount? Perhaps the fierce Corrupted Geo Beast of Oricon*, or the massive but gentle Bormus of Balmorra? We want to hear about it!
Please use this thread to tell us what you would like to see implemented as a mount, be it creature, or vehicular! When offering suggestions, we do ask that you please be as specific as possible, and provide images when you can. The more information we have about exactly what you want to see, the easier it is for us to send our expert creature handlers out for investigation, or supply work orders to our manufacturers!
*Please be safe when investigating some creatures. A single misstep can lead to catastrophic results! Be safe out there!
The latest Cartel Pack introduced a new cat-like animal. This goes along with the dev post by David Staats. He and his team are wanting to know what animal SWTOR you would like to see as a mount or possibly other vehicles. A couple I have heard in guild voice-chat have been a Wampa, the bonus boss on Maelstrom Prison – Ancient Flayer and another, which I thought could be like animal Sail Barge, the flying mound Thranta.
