HoloNet Links #206

We are settling back into so-called normal schedules as far as school and work, with the return of a new school year. Did someone say fall? Yes, we have another month before fall is officially here, but the year is flying by. As we speed through the year, it brings the KotFE (Knights of the Fallen Empire) expansion that much closer. We will be getting some long awaited details coming in the next SWTOR livestream event.

Now, we can get into this week’s links after the Jump…

  • SWTOR livestream event details

Eric Musco posted an update about the livestream with the date, time and some of the specifics that will be covered during the stream. The devs attending will be Bruce Maclean, Michael Backus, Ben Scott and of course Eric Musco. Besides trying to answer some of the questions from chat, we will be seeing some actual gameplay from chapter three of the new expansion. The other big part of the news or the livestream will be about companions. They will discuss how companions will work in KotFE expansion. They have stated that spoilers would be a minimum. If you are looking for a lot of spoilers, this is not the stream for you. However, if you don’t want any spoilers, the chapter three gameplay demo will be the first part of the livestream. Personally, I am excited to get to see some gameplay and also more details concerning companions and how they will be utilized in the future. What are you excited to hear about during the stream? Let us know in the comment section below.

  • Season 6 Ranked Reward Teaser blog

On August 19th, BioWare posted the first teaser blog about Season Six Ranked Predacious rewards. The blog has a table showing each tier of rewards and the different items that can be purchased by season six reward tokens. This marks the first season for the token reward system. Each tier will be rewarded a set number of tokens and the rewards can be purchased with these tokens. Do you like the idea of the tokens being used to purchase rewards? Let us know what you think of the new ranked reward system in the comment section below.

EricMusco No Top 10 rewards for last conquest event. | 08.18.2015, 02:25 PM

Hey folks,
Tait and I talked with the team regarding the issue of conquest rewards not being granted properly with Patch 3.3.1. Our plan at this time is to isolate those characters who should have received the reward. Once we know who they are we will generate a script, which once ran, will distribute the rewards to each of those characters.
I do not have an ETA on timing right now, but as soon as Tait or myself hear any updates we will pass them on! In the meantime you do not need to contact CS, as we will grant all of them at one time. Thanks!

It looks like there was a hiccup between the new patch and the Conquest rewards for some people. This is frustrating, but at least they know and are working on the situation. When they announce a fix we will be sure to pass the information along to you.

No plans to talk Crafting on this livestream, but do know that it is on the list of info you will be getting in the next few weeks! (insert standard disclaimer of subject to change)

One subject being discussed at the livestream is how companions will work. However, as the above post states crew skills will not be talked about during the livestream. This is a bit disappointing, but I would rather they get the crew skill system all worked out instead of rushing something. Eric does say that in a few weeks we will have more information about crew skills. It is difficult being patient for news, but all good things come to those who wait, or so the quote goes. What are you hoping to hear about companions during the livestream? Let us know in the comment section below.

  • SWTOR Community Blog: Jedipedia interviews Charles Boyd

Jedipedia, as the title states, interviewed Charles Boyd. They were able to interview him during Gamescom in Germany. For the most part, the interview does not reveal all that much. You are saying, “Why should I go read it then?” Funny you asked that, because there are a few items that were not known until this interview. Charles talks a little about the importance of the actual Eternal Throne to the story. He also confirms about whether or not two important figures are alive. One for certain is confirmed as to their particular state in KotFE. This is a really solid interview and nicely done by Jedipedia. Be sure to click the link to check it out.

  • SWTOR fan video

This week’s fan video comes from YouTube user Axurion Exeiro. If you have read this article over the years, you know that this particular YouTube user has posted several videos that I have highlighted. This newest video represents the return of the Amersu guild and the addition of the Togruta species. There are a couple of neat shots that showcase the Togruta social ability, storytelling. The video has a lot of amazing special effects. Around the 1:20 part of the video the music changes. It seems to show the Sith trying to break the Jedi. The use of special effects and music are good at showing the struggle. This is another impressive video by this creator. Take some time and press play, then let us know what you thought of the video in the comment section. Be sure to also go to the video page to select like or leave your comments there.

Special thanks to @swtornetwork for the find on the above video! Be sure to check out some of the other videos they have highlighted in the latest video round-up.

If you have created a video about your adventures in SWTOR let us know by emailing a link to or We would love to share it on our website!
