HoloNet Links #216
Knights of the Fallen Empire expansion is now live for everyone as of this past Tuesday, October 27th. This was the second week for me being in the expansion. How was it for you? What did you think of the story? I enjoyed my second and starting of my third playthrough of the new story. As much as I love the story this expansion has a lot more to offer.

TaitWatson Andronikos Revel Cannot dual wield blasters any longer? | 10.22.2015, 10:23 AM
We are currently working on getting Andronikos and Corso looked at! I don’t have any ETA on a change, but it’s on our radar.
It is good to see BioWare is looking to return Andronikos and Corso to their previous weapon usage before the expansion. Many might not see the significance in this and it isn’t probably the most important thing for them to fix. That said, it is imperative for the simple reason that it means not every companion is a “cookie-cutter” of the other ones. It might be interesting if the companions’ weapons would change with their roles. What sort of things would you like them to add or change with companions? Let us know in the comment section below.
For the question at hand about why equipment was removed from various vendors, this is due primarily to stat changes. With the release of Fallen Empire, we essentially made that gear obsolete due to the new stat configurations and formulas. This meant the best option was to remove those items. Obviously, this raises the main concern of the support call which is the appearances of those armor sets.
The dev team informs us that virtually all of the core armor appearances previously on those vendors can still be located throughout the game. The majority of the old armor sets can be found via Crafting rewards, Missions, and Heroic Mission rewards. Now, there may be some variants of these core armor sets which are no longer available, but we’ll adjust that over time and slowly re-add pieces. If there are specific armor sets that can no longer be found, send the information to the Community Team and we’ll pass it along.
Taking a bite out of the people who can help with getting you back into the game, helping you restore missing items or characters, and addressing any billing issues, really isn’t a good use of your time, or theirs. As a general note, if you guys have feedback or questions about design decisions or development philosophy, come to the forums and raise it here. Going to Customer Support is not the correct place for that (and we will ask CS agents to direct you appropriately).
Thank you all for your understanding and hope that clears up any confusion on the issue.
One of the many things you might have noticed being changed on fleet since the update are the removal of several vendors in the supply area. Most of those vendors sold equipment and armor. There were two changes that made extra armors and equipment less needed. First was the change from four main stats into one mastery stat. The second was no longer needing to gear your companions. However, some of those vendors sold some interesting looking pieces along with a few other vendors scattered throughout the galaxy. According to the dev post above, it explains some of the reasoning for their removal along with the mention that some of those sought after armors might be brought back in game in the future. The post also mentions that Heroics might be a place to find those armors. If you do those before hitting level 61, then yes there are some gear options that drop. After leveling up to 61, the gear rewards are replaced by the purple lockboxes needed for part of the Alliance gameplay. Are there some armors that use to be ingame that you hope they bring back? Tell us about these armors in the comment section.
We will be having a brief downtime tomorrow, October 29th, to activate additional hardware to increase server capacity.
The servers will be unavailable from 5AM PDT to 6AM PDT (12PM – 1PM GMT).
I never thought I would see this happen. BioWare has increased server capacity and hopefully helps with queues that have increased since the latest expansion. Anytime that the game’s population increases is a good thing, but having lag or long wait times is a bad experience. Does this mean the reduced cost for server transfers has paid off for BioWare? Has your server been really busy since the expansion went live?

- SWTOR music video
This week I wanted to share a fan-made trailer for the expansion. The Knights of the Fallen Empire trailer is created by YouTube user Tim Skijwalker. He has done a great job combining some of the amazing cutscenes, voice-acting and the Star Wars music we have all come to know and love. This fan-made trailer is really well done and encapsulates the expansion in this two minute long video. Take a moment and check this trailer out. Let us know what you think about the video in the comment section below.
Please let us know if you have a particular link, story, video, or blog related to SWTOR we would love to hear about it!
