    Nova Squad: Teamwork & Character

This week we take a look at Nova Squad a guild for the Republic. I came across them through Twitter. They had posted a PVP event and so I wanted to check this guild out. What I found was a family friendly guild that loves to have fun. For Nova Squad, this fun comes in many forms, Datacron runs, “Monday Heroes” heroic runs, and much more. After spending some time in their forums and getting to know them, it’s obvious they pride themselves on character; it is a definite strength in this guild. We will find out more about Nova Squad in our Q&A with their guild leader, Hoka.

Our top story on HoloNet Links has to do with an announcement from Drew Karpyshyn. After twelve years with Bioware, Drew is officially retiring from the company and video game developing. He let his fans know in his blog February 15th. Drew talks in the blog entry how he plans to use the time for other projects, writing novels, screenplays and playing some more golf.

  • Redemption – Galactic Republic guild

Time to meet another great guild in the Star Wars: The Old Republic community. This week’s guild is called Redemption. Like with most guilds for this article, I usually come across a recruiting thread and/or a website. That is how I met the folks at Redemption. They invited me to join their forums and get to know more about them, and I did. They really like to have some fun in more of a casual setting, but they still plan events, endgame Operation runs, PVP and have a lot fun playing this game. We will meet Mordalus, the Guild Leader, in our Q&A section.

Today’s patch should hopefully be a step in the right direction to fixing the issues on Ilum. Let’s hope so. Many of us follow the Dev posts daily and I have to say that yesterday’s post from Stephen Reid was some of the best news I have seen. Bioware has heard the community and is working to get a character copy for the Public Test Server.

“Other ideas to allow the testing of high-level content have been explored, but ultimately character transfer is what we want to allow for everyone.”

 

You can read below the entire post below in Dev notes section. Yes there are no exact dates yet, but all I can say is finally! The more high level characters that can test new updates, the better this game will be. Thank you Bioware for listening to the community…Okay enough praise get back to work, as the rest of us prepare to make the Jump.

  • Keyboard Heroes – Sith Empire Guild

Last night we celebrated the heroes of the National Football League during the Superbowl. On this week’s Guild Checkpoint, we have another group of “heroes,” the guild Keyboard Heroes. Although having some Canadian ties, perhaps I should have used a Stanley Cup Finals analogy, but I digress. This guild has a couple great guys, Kalan and Sydor, leading the way in-game and also being a well known part of the SWTOR community with their podcast. KBH was featured on an earlier article, and now we find out how the guild is doing and how they are making their way in the Star Wars: The Old Republic Universe.
