The Galactic Republic

 

Once the most powerful and advanced civilization in the galaxy, the Galactic Republic now suffers from severe economic decline following The Great War.  The Jedi Order has fallen somewhat into disfavor as many blame them for defeat at the hands of the Sith Empire.  Highly-trained squads of elite Troopers have taken the leading role as defenders of the Republic, with members of the Jedi Order providing support.  Despite economic hardships and Sith oppression, the Republic remains the hope for those who strive for peace and individual freedom.
