IGN interviewed Daniel Erickson today as their livestream event at 11 am Pacific.  Daniel discussed multiplayer dialog, the Alderaan world arc boss fight, server types.   Our favorite highlights:

  • Multiplayer dialog rolls will not always be a simple random roll.  For the very important decisions, the party’s choice will be determined by a vote.
  • The Alderaan boss fight is the end of a ten-quest world arc.
  • On PvP servers, zones will feature free-for-all open world PvP.
  • Release date will probably be announced before pricing model details.

Daniel Erickson sat down with Gamespot and showed a gameplay demo of grouping in Alderaan. Daniel wanted to emphasize that there are group play opportunities outside flashpoints and raids/operations. The boss fight depicted in this video shows some fairly complicated group coordination needed to defeat the enemies. There are even some puzzle aspects to the encounter. Watch the full video for plenty of in-game footage.

And the beast retreated into its place of lurking and the fans were mollified.  For now. Continue reading »

  2. Crafting
  3. A chance to re-name the Jedi Wizard Advanced Class.
