  • Keyboard Heroes – Sith Empire Guild

Last night we celebrated the heroes of the National Football League during the Superbowl. On this week’s Guild Checkpoint, we have another group of “heroes,” the guild Keyboard Heroes. Although having some Canadian ties, perhaps I should have used a Stanley Cup Finals analogy, but I digress. This guild has a couple great guys, Kalan and Sydor, leading the way in-game and also being a well known part of the SWTOR community with their podcast. KBH was featured on an earlier article, and now we find out how the guild is doing and how they are making their way in the Star Wars: The Old Republic Universe.

Force Lore: Special Intelligence Report

Greeting spacers!  Another week has arrived and I hope you’re not suffering the Monday Blues.  Every once in a while I’ll be releasing a Force Lore Intelligence Report.  The information contained within the report will hopefully be of use to you, the reader, as an extension of the In-game Codex, clarification of bits of lore that are released by BioWare or LucasArts, or some of the jargon I use in the column on a regular basis.  Beware:  Force Lore Intelligence Reports may contain spoilers for in-game events, so readers use caution.  Now, stand by for receipt of Intelligence transmission.

We start off this week’s article with a bit of news from yesterday on the official game press release, after just about six weeks post-launch Star Wars: The Old Republic has sold over 2 million copies, with nearly 1.7 million of them as subscribers! That is just amazing to me. The article goes on to break down some of the “shocking” numbers reached at just past the one month marker:

  • Over 239 million in-game hours, this equals 332,000 months or roughly 27,000 years in-game time.
  • Over 20 billion NPCs killed (This includes the docile animals my nephew enjoys to target)
  • Over 148 billion credits spent (Most of my help in this was spending them on crew skills)

I don’t know about you, but to me those numbers are pretty hard to comprehend. All I know is that this game is beyond addictive and I just love it!

Bioware to host Old Republic Guild Summit

Bioware has announced that it will be hosting a guild summit March 4th-6th in Austin, Texas. They have already sent out some invites to different sized and types of guilds – from PVP, to end game content/operations to the role-playing. Bioware wants this to be a true roundtable discussion between guild leaders and developers. The focus of the summit is to see what the guilds think of some new guild content they are working on and also what guilds want to see in-game in the future.

Space is limited for this event and by invite only, but if you would like to have your guild represented at the summit you can submit an application found at the following link. Please note that you must be at least 21 to attend. For more information you can read more on the official news article.
