This week we received our first patch of 2013. Along with fixes the patch included some new items on the Cartel Market. Now not all the changes were well received, especially those making changes to a couple existing armor, the Phantom and Spymasters gear sets, which were purchased through the Cartel Market. As a result many players voiced their displeasure on the forums. How would BioWare respond to these players?

As most of you may know by now, Star Wars: The Old Republic will be changing their subscription model to include a Free-to-Play option coming sometime this fall. The announced changes have many, including myself, wondering what this all means. The only thing for certain is the game will go on in some form for the foreseeable future. So far there is not a definite date as to when this option will take place. Like many of you, I find myself reluctant to change, but as for now, I plan to continue playing the game, writing about SWTOR and helping to highlight the community.

Change is not always welcomed and even less welcome if you feel uncertain of what might happen. Many of us have been feeling that with the server transfers. Yes, it is better that Bioware is taking it slowly on the transfers and making it work as flawless as possible, but it is stressful waiting to see what is going to happen. For me, I like to do something fun or maybe something that makes me laugh to help. It just so happens I have come across, with the help of a Facebook friend (thanks Karen), the very thing to help with those waiting blues. It is a video from Star Wars Celebration 2012 that ended this past weekend.

As many of us are downloading the latest fix – 1.1.0a, let’s take a look at a number of the things that came with patch 1.1. Yes, there were some issues on Ilum, but hopefully Bioware has corrected them. We will take a look at the new content in, “Rise of the Rakghouls” and also various fixes in the 1.1 patch. We will also look at James Ohlen’s point of view regarding this new content and what we can expect. There is also news from Courtney Woods regarding becoming founding members of Star Wars: The Old Republic. Today’s patch 1.0.2d is active and ready to download when you start launcher. Looks like there are fixes to some bugs on some Flashpoints and fixes to Eternity Vault Operation. We also have news about the 1.1 patch being released January 17^th, thanks to the folks over at Massively and their article with Gabe Amatangelo.
