Sith Lord Mickey Loves Chapeau Shenanigans

Nothing as menacing as an adorable little clown hat when you’re trying to teach a Sith apprentice his place! This week we discuss the last installment of Blood of the Empire, community polls, Jedi, and the Smuggler update bonanza.  In other news, the millinery tomfoolery continues.

"Lightsabers at dawn, Mr. Wizard!"

It’s Harry Potter time!  Between the Advanced Classes announcement and all the Gamescom coverage, there was tons o’ TOR-related news out there.  We were almost defeated by the many, many interruptions that happened during the recording session (are monitors supposed to flash like lightning and then black out?  Does that dog have to keep barking?  Why is every one of these phone calls actually important?), but we persevered to bring you one of our most information-packed podcasts to date. It’s been confirmed!  Even though SWTOR fans fell short on the Facebook/Twitter Challenge (200,000 Facebook Likes & 30,000 Twitter followers), Sean Dahlberg took pity on us and announced that space combat will be a totally happening and officially confirmed thing.

Says Sean, “Space combat is an alternative gameplay experience to the primary game of storytelling, questing, and ground-based combat.  In space combat, you fly your personal ship to various “hot spots” on your galaxy map.  From there, you will blast your way through asteroid fields, enemy fighters, frigates, destroyers, and a variety of other obstacles….”

Run to your local magazine shop (on newsstands Aug. 17th) and read all about it in PC Gamer.

As expected, BioWare chose Electronic Entertainment Expo 2010 as the forum for some major announcements to get SWTOR fans revved up.  Here’s a quick recap of the highlights:

Release Date:  Spring 2011!

Player Starships! Oboy!  Developers call them our “base of operations.”  Our ship will be a place to socialize, a place our companion characters will live when we’re not dragging them around the galaxy, a way for our groups to travel together.  Plus, they’re really BIG inside!  Check out the official video here.
