WOOK Guild – Galactic Republic

Many Star Wars fans love the Wookiees. From first seeing Chewbacca, the co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon, to being able to share adventures with the lovable, strong, loyal “furballs” in various Star Wars games, fans have felt a strong connection with this species. Today’s guild, WOOK, first started in another MMO with a direct connection to the Wookiees. While they may not be able to play as the specie their guild takes their name from, they still have the same strong friendships and determination to a “complete” guild in SWTOR.

News…News…News! After the holiday period, it seems things are getting back in full-swing. BioWare gave the community what it had been starving for, news. We have news about what we will see in Patch 1.7, BioWare’s solution to gear changes on the cartel Market and even the latest Companion 101 blog. Legacy of The Ancients

After communicating with several guilds, I have found there are common traits in all…structure, leadership and having fun to name a few. This week we get to learn about The Legacy of The Ancients. They in turn share these traits, but it was the backstory of this roleplaying guild that first caught my eye. After researching the guild more, I also discovered they use their guild status to also pursue helping others in philanthropic ways. We will find out more in today’s Community Checkpoint as we meet the guild, The Legacy of The Ancients.

This week we received our first patch of 2013. Along with fixes the patch included some new items on the Cartel Market. Now not all the changes were well received, especially those making changes to a couple existing armor, the Phantom and Spymasters gear sets, which were purchased through the Cartel Market. As a result many players voiced their displeasure on the forums. How would BioWare respond to these players?

This week on Community Checkpoint we meet the hosts of the TORVerse podcast, Phil and Jake. Not only are these two avid Star Wars fans and SWTOR players, these two also happen to be father and son. I came across this podcast several weeks ago and love the dynamic between the two, not just as father and son, but as two gamers sharing their opinions about this game. We will get a chance to learn more about how they got started in Star Wars: The Old Republic and how it led to them developing the TORVerse podcast.
