We had a blast at PAX Prime. We got to chat with the devs, hang out with other people who have been following the game, play a little Huttball.  All in all, a very fun weekend. For those hoping for brand new content, the pickings were a little slim, but we did get bits of info here and there that help expand our understanding of the game. The new information has been highlighted in gold.

Capital ships, trophies

I Can Haz Day/Night?

Discuss this episode on the forums here.

Roxanne is sick this week, but we have JJ from TOROcast to fill the third seat and make sure we never go under an hour!  We’re feeling feisty this week and we have several lively debates on everything from how much you need to know about the game before the game, whether companions should be money-making machines, and whether day/night cycles are necessary in MMOs.

EA CEO John Riccitiello spoke at the 2011 William & Blair Stock Growth Conference this morning, saying that the testing for Star Wars: The Old Republic will be in “high scale beta” in the end of June.  He also noted that release date will be dependent on the results of that testing.  Full transcript of the call here.

Ask A Jedi reports on the call here.  Thanks to Steve Thompson for the Facebook chat heads up!

Much excitement and debate on the official forums here.  Stephen Reid advises fans not to get too excited here, here, and  here.

European SWTOR fans got some good news today — BioWare is widening their testing to the European markets.  Now that fans can sign-up for testing invites, the official forums are buzzing with excitement as even more anticipate getting their hands on the game.  Stephen Reid hopped on the thread to encourage people to sign up for testing.  He also clarifies that testing has not actually begun yet, but sign-ups have.  Any emails sent out were those to people who signed up to receive marketing updates from EA Games.  They were not testing invites.

Looks like we’re all another step closer to the finish line and that makes us happy on this May the 4th Be With You day.

French-speaking fans may sign up for testing here, German-speaking fans here.
