In Brown v. Entertainment Merchants Assn. the Supreme Court ruled that video games are protected by free speech.  In this 7-2 ruling the Court rejected the idea that video games qualify for special regulation because of their interactive nature, calling it “unprecedented and mistaken.”  It continued:

If you don’t know about these guys, you should.  Extra Credits at Escapistmagazine.com do animated videos which discuss various aspects of video gaming.  Their most recent video, “Project Ten Dollar,” talks about the issues of pricing games, what developers get paid, used game sales, downloadable content, and EA Games Project Ten Dollar.  Their talks are well-informed and insightful, while the animation brings the subject matter to life in an entertaining manner.
