torverspodartThis week on Community Checkpoint we meet the hosts of the TORVerse podcast, Phil and Jake. Not only are these two avid Star Wars fans and SWTOR players, these two also happen to be father and son. I came across this podcast several weeks ago and love the dynamic between the two, not just as father and son, but as two gamers sharing their opinions about this game. We will get a chance to learn more about how they got started in Star Wars: The Old Republic and how it led to them developing the TORVerse podcast.

Get ready to meet Phil & Jake after we make the Jump…

When you are designated a role in an operation that doesn’t mean that is the only thing you should do. Having a mentality that you will only do your assigned role is a sure way to get stuck in progression. The statement of “That’s not my job.” has no place in an operation where teamwork is paramount. Continue reading »

HoloNet Links #78

Happy 2013 to everyone! Well, it seems the Mayans were a bit off lol. That just means more SWTOR we will be able to play. It is sort of wild to believe it has already been more than one year ago we were able to start our journeys in the Old Republic universe. Yes, there have been and still are issues to be found in the game, however the game has come a long way. Now, as everyone returns back from the holidays, maybe we will learn in more detail what direction SWTOR will be heading for 2013.

Thoughts on the State of the Game blog and more after the Jump…

Photo-Receptor Focus on: 2012 in TOR

By Maer

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a safe and fun New Year’s Eve and is ready for another year in SWTOR.

The first anniversary for SWTOR came and went in December, with very little fanfare from Bioware itself. That didn’t stop some of us from celebrating our first year in a game we waited months and sometimes years for. Here’s my take on our beloved game.

More after the jump…

A couple of weeks ago I posted a strategy guide to the Nightmare Kephess encounter, but I thought this encounter warranted another look at it in detail. While every operation group is different, I’ll offer up some more insight on this fight and how we handled each phase for our operation composition. This was, by far, the most difficult encounter in the game to date and required different methods of handling each phase.
