Operation: Explosive Conflict

Deirdre and Carla are BACK!  Due to computer issues beyond Carla’s control (her computer blew up!) we were unable to record our podcast the past couple of weeks.  While Carla’s computer is still at the retailer for warranty repairs or replacement, this podcast was recorded using Carla’s MacBook Pro.  The audio quality is not up to our usual standard, but we hope you enjoy it!

This podcast we chat about patch 1.2.3, return of Fan Friday, Nightmare Pilgrim issues, and so much more.  Now if Carla can only figure out what the correct date is, all will be right with the world.  LOL

FACT OR FICTION: Can you pick out the true fact? This week’s fact or fiction talks about Boarding Party flashpoint, characters in your legacy tree and Nightmare Pilgrim issues.

SITH OR JEDI:  Test of the Improperly Fixed Computer

You have a name brand computer that you bought from a major retailer. You go to turn it on and it won’t come on.  You take it to the retailer for a warranty repair.  They have your computer for 2 weeks and you are all excited when you get it back.  Three days later, your hard drive crashes and you are yet again forced to take your computer in for repair.

Do you:

  1. You tell the tech what is wrong, take your repair order and let things be processed on the retailer’s time schedule and procedure.
  2. You tell the tech what is wrong, take your repair order, and ask that the repair be done inhouse so you can get it back quicker.
  3. When you arrive, you politely yet firmly explain how your computer is lemon and ask that it be replaced.

  1. I have to say: I missed both your lovely voices. I’m downloading the podcast right now.

  2. Thanks you so much, as higher profile members of the community, for standing strong for the game even with the population, balance and bug issues it has. I’ve been hearing so much negativity around these topics lately and I think it’s very harmful to the swtor community. y’all are approaching it from a very diplomatic stance by supporting Bioware and trusting that they will do the right thing, with their fans in mind. Anyways, thanks for that and keep up the good work! ^_^

  3. I really like your podcast. This week I want to specifically say the comments about Server Population and Bugs is pretty spot on. I do think Bioware is aware of this more than they are letting on. I suspect they are working very hard on improving cross-server protocols–I think we will see both cross-server transfers and cross-server Warzones sooner rather than later. I think we have to also balance the gaming season…every MMO I’ve been in gets think during summer time and picks back up during holiday and colder weather(this doesn’t speak to what we are seeing, but I think it does magnify the image). As you stated, this game is less than 6 months old and is lighyears(pun intended) ahead of previous MMO’s at this point in it’s age. I also see a good level of dedication to improvements and features already…as long as this trend continues I think this will be a long lived MMO.

  4. Sam – Thank you! We really missed recording. After doing CRR for almost 2 years on a regular basis, when you miss recording for a couple of weeks you feel like you have forgotten to do something major. We appreciate you listening!

Josh – We appreciate your positive feedback. While we love BioWare, we really, REALLY love this game. We want to see it be very successful for years to come. Does it have issues? Yes, but what game doesn’t! Thank you for taking time to post a comment.

tk7223 – Thank you for your comments. In addition to the things we mentioned,I hope something is put into place that will encourage people to play the Republic side. I have played both sides and it is just so much fun playing the “dark” side of things. Thank you for listeing. 🙂

  5. completely agree Carla! I think it was Alan (alanshotfirst Alan) I was talking to last night in vent that was saying that Bioware is probably more aware of the issues than they let off and probably have a group of people frantically working to fix these issues. I think it’ll probably start with cross server WZ and then work more towards the imminent shut downs of the super low pop servers and transfers. I know it’s a hot topic for all servers and guilds and MERC seems to be preparing to be ready so they know what their decision is when that option comes up.

    P.S.
    Happy Mothers Day! ^__^

  6. Thank you! Yes, it will be important for guilds to be prepared. 🙂
