Highlighted Guild

  • Impetus Norvegicus – Sith Empire Guild

There are things in SWTOR a person might not like, but one area Bioware did get from the beginning was the worldwide appeal of Star Wars. They know their base is not just North America, like I sometimes forget. A great example on this was at the Guild Summit. They invited several guilds from around the world, including the Norwegian guild, Impetus Norvegicus. It never ceases to amaze me just how many people worldwide are truly dedicated Star Wars fans. That is one thing that really struck me about this guild…they really do love Star Wars. We will meet Aalen and find out how this devotion led to their guild and how they play SWTOR.

Highlighted Guild

  • The Imperial Guard – Sith Empire guild

This week we take a look at a guild that got their roots from another Star Wars MMO, Star Wars Galaxies. We find out how they were able to create the guild and follow through on their vision from pre-launch, to launch and are truly thriving to this day in Star Wars: The Old Republic. They have maintained this vision through a few key elements, recruit the person not the class/role, scheduled events – some with a “dash” of role-play for flavor, but as we will find out it really boils down to respect. Respect for guildmates, other players and game developers. That is only a small glimpse into what makes up The Imperial Guard.

Bioware has announced that it will be hosting a guild summit March 4th-6th in Austin, Texas. They have already sent out some invites to different sized and types of guilds – from PVP, to end game content/operations to the role-playing. Bioware wants this to be a true roundtable discussion between guild leaders and developers. The focus of the summit is to see what the guilds think of some new guild content they are working on and also what guilds want to see in-game in the future.

Space is limited for this event and by invite only, but if you would like to have your guild represented at the summit you can submit an application found at the following link. Please note that you must be at least 21 to attend. For more information you can read more on the official news article.
