It’s always exciting to get a new class video, and the Trooper is no exception. Voiced by the incomparable Jennifer Hale, the fem version of this no-nonsense bad-ass is tough as nails and ready to rock and roll. Highlight: Ms. Hale blasts a charging Sith Warrior out of the air as he tries to Force Jump her face. Mistake. This trailer was posted by Gamespot.
Praise the Friday Update gods, they brought us to the Promised Land! After a dry season of no gameplay information, BioWare said unto its fans, “Have faith and you shall have your fill.” But the people hardened their hearts and they cried out into cyberspace, the void of which is terrible deep, magnifying the clatter of voices in endless echoes of dissatisfaction. And lo, just when the night’s gloom was unpierced even by the tiniest spark of hope and most silent, a light blazed across the horizon, and broke the spine of the dark, whining beast. “Behold,” said BioWare, “We bring you glad tidings of great joy! We give you the Imperial Agent, the smoothest of all criminals! We give you PvP and Crafting! We’ll even let you change that Advanced Class name you hated so much.”

It’s Harry Potter time! Between the Advanced Classes announcement and all the Gamescom coverage, there was tons o’ TOR-related news out there. We were almost defeated by the many, many interruptions that happened during the recording session (are monitors supposed to flash like lightning and then black out? Giancarlo Varanini from Gamespot interviewed Daniel Erickson at GamesCom. A few new tidbits were revealed:
1. When Varanini asked Erickson to confirm that space combat would be a completely optional activity, Erickson hedged, “Not sure if it will be completely optional.” He said they might interweave the space combat with the on-the-ground quests.
2. Developers are looking at awarding xp for space combat missions and battlegrounds
3. Erickson insisted, “We are no where near a final point” when it comes to balancing classes and advanced class systems.
